Description
The Knightsbridge 45A 1-gang DP cooker switch combines a double-pole 45A isolator for electric cookers with a 13A switched socket and dual USB-A charging ports behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a black insert. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the cooker switch is off, providing safer maintenance access to high-load cooking appliances rated up to 10,800W at 230V.
Designed for kitchen installation where wall space is limited but multiple functions are needed, this unit consolidates cooker isolation, appliance power and device charging into a single 147.5mm-wide fitting. The 13A socket handles standard kitchen appliances such as kettles, toasters and food processors, while the dual USB-A ports provide 5V DC 2.4A output for charging mobile phones, tablets and other USB-powered devices without needing a plug adapter. The fitting requires a 47mm minimum back box depth.
The brushed chrome finish on 201 stainless steel provides a hard-wearing surface that resists fingerprints and cleaning marks better than polished finishes, making it suited to high-traffic kitchen environments. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, so no screw heads are visible on the wall once installed. The black insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives defined edges to the outlet and switch apertures. The IP20 rating confirms indoor dry-location use only.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 9.6mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of 34.3mm from the wall surface to the front of the plate.
What load can the 45A switch handle?
The 45A double-pole switch is rated to isolate electric cookers and ranges up to 10,800W at 230V. This covers most domestic electric cookers, ovens and hobs. For commercial or higher-load appliances, check the appliance rating against the 45A maximum before installation.
What's the USB charging output?
The dual USB-A ports provide 5V DC at 2.4A combined output. This is sufficient for charging two mobile phones simultaneously or one tablet. Use certified USB leads for safe operation and to avoid damage to connected devices.
Can the screwless plate be removed for redecorating?
Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the fitting and re-clipped without re-wiring the cooker switch or socket connections.
