Description

Four slim curved shades in amber hang beneath a long antique gold bar, each one tapering to a trapezium profile that holds the light along its curve. The colouring is warm rather than dark, so lit lamps read as a soft honey glow while the unlit fitting still carries colour in daylight. The bar runs 1.2m end to end, and the drop adjusts over a long span for tables set low or ceilings that sit high.

We reach for a linear pendant like this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where a single shade would leave the ends of the surface in shadow. It also works down the middle of a long hallway or above a bar counter. Each socket takes an E27 lamp of up to 20W, and we would choose a warm white LED globe here, since a clear filament lamp will show plainly through the amber and a frosted one will not. It will dim where the lamps and the dimmer are both suited to it.

The bar and suspension are metal in an antique gold finish, aged enough to sit quietly against the amber rather than compete with it. Dust the shades with a soft cloth and lift fingermarks with a barely damp one, drying straight after; keep cream cleaners and solvents away from the gold. Switch off at the wall first and give warm lamps time to cool. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, away from bathrooms and anything steamy. It carries a one year warranty. The same amber trapezium shades run through the Lori range on a single light flush fitting, which we also stock in polished chrome, so a landing can echo the dining room without matching it.
