Description

The Knightsbridge SFR998BCW is a 4-gang multimedia combination plate combining two 13A DP switched sockets, one USB-A and one USB-C fast charge port, and eight apertures for 25x50mm modular inserts behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with white insert. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when sockets are switched off, and the USB ports share a 5V DC 4.0A output supporting Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Power Delivery protocols.

Designed for home offices, media walls, hotel rooms and commercial installations where power, USB charging and data/AV connectivity are needed in a single location, the plate consolidates multiple functions into a 297.5mm-wide fixture. The eight modular apertures accept standard 25x50mm Euro inserts for HDMI, Ethernet, coaxial, telephone, audio or blank plates, allowing the configuration to be tailored to specific AV or data requirements without changing the base plate.

The brushed chrome faceplate is made from 201 stainless steel with a directional grain finish that pairs with both contemporary and traditional interiors. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings once installed. The plate requires a minimum 47mm back box depth and projects 9.5mm from the wall when fitted. Built-in thermal and overload protection prevents damage from sustained high draw, and the unit enters 0.1W standby mode when no device is connected, meeting ErP energy efficiency standards.

The USB fast charge function supports devices up to 18W output, with the controller dynamically adjusting voltage based on the connected device's charging protocol. Fast charge typically activates up to 70% battery level, after which the device determines the draw rate to protect battery lifespan. The plate carries IP20 ingress protection and Class I earthing with twin earthing points, and is certified to current British Safety Standards.

What modular inserts does this plate accept?

The plate has eight apertures for standard 25x50mm Euro modular inserts, which cover HDMI, Ethernet (RJ45), coaxial, phone (RJ11), 3.5mm audio, speaker binding posts, and blank plates. These inserts are sold separately and clip into the apertures from the front once the plate is installed.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 47mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The plate projects 9.5mm from the wall once the screwless cover is clipped onto the sub-frame.

Does the USB fast charge work with all devices?

The USB-A and USB-C ports support Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Power Delivery protocols, and will charge any USB device. Fast charge up to 18W activates automatically for compatible devices; older or non-compatible devices charge at standard 5V rates. Use only certified USB cables to ensure safe operation.

Can the modular apertures be left empty?

Yes. If you do not need all eight insert positions immediately, you can fit blank modular plates to close unused apertures, or leave them open if the plate is installed in a location where rear access is not a concern. Blank inserts are recommended for a finished appearance and to prevent dust ingress into the back box.
