Four rockers sit on a single flat plate, with no screw heads on show across the front, so a busy hallway wall keeps one clean line rather than a run of separate plates. The gang layout mixes two way switching with an intermediate rocker, which is the type wanted where one lighting circuit is operated from several positions on a staircase or a long through room. Chrome rockers stand against the strawberry plate, and each carries a 10A lighting rating.

We would reach for a plate like this at the foot of the stairs, on a landing, or just inside the front door of an open-plan ground floor, where the hall, porch, stairwell and kitchen lights all want switching from the same spot. It suits anyone reworking a room and keen to keep one plate doing the work of several. The colour gives it a place in rooms where white plastic would look like an afterthought: a hallway with strong paintwork, a panelled study, a kitchen with coloured cabinetry. It is worth deciding which light goes on which gang before you label them, so the order reads left to right as you walk in.

The body is moulded ABS, double insulated, and intended for dry indoor rooms on ordinary household mains. Cleaning asks little: a dry cloth over the plate and around the rockers, and nothing from the kitchen cupboard, since sprays and solvents will dull a coloured moulding. Wipe the face with a dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and household sprays, which can mark the coloured surface over time.
