Description
The Knightsbridge 4-gang intelligent dimmer switch controls up to four separate lighting zones from a single faceplate, rated at 10-200W per gang for halogen or incandescent lamps, or 5-150W per gang for dimmable LED. Each gang features a push on/off rotary knob that dims the connected load when turned, with automatic trailing-edge or leading-edge mode selection depending on the lamp type connected.
Designed for multi-zone residential and hospitality installations where different lighting circuits need independent dimming control, the 4-gang configuration allows separate control of ambient ceiling lights, task lighting, accent lighting and decorative fittings from a single wall position. The 2-way function allows the same lighting zone to be controlled from two different wall locations when paired with a compatible 2-way switch.
The antique brass screwless faceplate provides a warm, aged metallic finish with a brushed texture that hides fingerprints and minor surface marks. The screwless design uses a cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, so no visible screws appear on the wall once installed. Each rotary knob includes trim adjustment, mode switching between trailing-edge and leading-edge, and a reset function accessible from the front of the plate. Built-in overload and overheat protection prevents damage if the connected load exceeds the rated wattage.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming?
Trailing-edge dimming is designed for LED and low-voltage electronic transformers, while leading-edge dimming suits older incandescent and halogen lamps with magnetic transformers. This dimmer automatically detects which mode is needed when powered on, but the mode can be manually switched via the rotary knob if needed.
Can I mix LED and halogen lamps on the same gang?
No. Each gang should control a single lamp type and brand. Mixing different lamp technologies or wattages within the same circuit can cause flickering, buzzing, or premature dimmer failure.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The dimmer module projects 21.3mm into the box, with the screwless cover plate adding 22.6mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
How do I set the minimum brightness level?
Each rotary knob has a trim adjustment accessible from the front. Remove the knob, adjust the trim screw to set the minimum dimming level, then replace the knob. This prevents the lamp from dropping out or flickering at low settings.
