36W IP65 4ft T8 Twin Batten Fitting

This is a 4ft twin batten fitting, 1200mm long, built to hold two T8 linear tubes behind a single sealed diffuser. The specification gives it as 36W and as non-dimmable, and the body carries an IP65 rating, which is the number that matters once a fitting has to live somewhere damp or dusty rather than in a clean dry ceiling void. The housing is grey, and the translucent diffuser clips down the full length so the whole chamber closes up when the clips are shut.

Are the tubes included?

Can I fit this in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP65 rating makes it suitable for zones 3, 2 and 1, but not zone 0, which is the inside of the bath or shower basin itself. Any bathroom wiring work should follow the current regulations.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

No. The specification lists it as non-dimmable, so it needs a plain on and off switch. Wiring a non-dimmable fitting to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker, buzzing or early failure.

What colour light does it give?

That depends entirely on the tubes you fit. No colour temperature is stated for the fitting itself. Cool white reads crisp and neutral for workshops and garages, while warmer tubes feel calmer in a utility room.

What does IP65 actually protect against?

The first digit, 6, means the enclosure is dust tight. The second, 5, means it is protected against low pressure water jets from any direction, which covers splashes, hose down cleaning and damp air.
