Description
The Knightsbridge SN8430 is a 30A-rated junction box with three brass terminals housed in a white thermoset resin casing. At 89mm diameter and 26mm projection from the ceiling or wall surface, the box provides a compact connection point for ring main, radial circuit or lighting loop wiring where fixed terminals are needed instead of lever connectors.
Designed for concealed installation in ceiling voids, under floorboards, or behind access panels in residential and light commercial properties, the junction box uses selective entry points around the perimeter that can be knocked out as needed to accept cable runs from different directions. The three brass terminals inside accept conductors up to a combined 30A load, making the box suitable for connecting cooker circuits, shower feeds, or multiple lighting loops where a traditional rose or block connector is not practical.
The thermoset resin construction resists impact and temperature better than standard thermoplastic, and the white finish blends into ceiling voids and painted surfaces. The IP20 rating means the box is suitable for dry indoor locations only and should not be used in bathrooms, outdoors, or anywhere moisture is present. Certified to BS EN 60670 and backed by a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What circuits is this junction box rated for?
The 30A rating makes it suitable for cooker circuits, shower feeds, and ring main loops. It is not suitable for higher-load circuits such as electric vehicle chargers or industrial equipment exceeding 30A.
Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?
No. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms or outdoor use, a junction box with a minimum IP54 or IP65 rating is required.
How are the cable entries accessed?
The box has selective entry points around the perimeter that are knocked out as needed. This allows cables to enter from different directions depending on the installation layout.
What cable sizes does it accept?
The three brass terminals inside will accept standard UK domestic cables up to 6mm² or 10mm² depending on the specific terminal design. Refer to the datasheet for exact conductor capacity per terminal.
