3 Gang 2 Way Light Switch - Copper

Three rocker switches sit side by side on a single square plate finished in copper, with chrome rockers set into the front for contrast. The plate is a screwless design, so the face reads as one clean piece of copper with no fixing heads breaking it up. At 88mm square it keeps to the standard footprint most homes already use, and the rockers give the familiar firm click when pressed. Each gang is wired as a two way, so the switch can work on its own or as one half of a pair.

This is the plate we reach for in a hallway, on a landing or at the top and bottom of a staircase, where the same lights need controlling from more than one place. Three gangs also suit a kitchen or open living room split into separate lighting circuits, letting downlights, pendants and under cupboard strips be handled from one point by the door. It is intended for indoor rooms on household lighting circuits, and it sits comfortably alongside copper taps, copper pendants and warm metal ironmongery rather than fighting them. The body is moulded ABS with the copper finish applied to the visible face, and it is built to Class 2 double insulated standards. To keep the copper looking even, wipe the plate now and then with a dry microfibre cloth; keep cream cleaners, kitchen sprays and anything abrasive well away, as they will dull or mark the finish permanently. It carries a ten year warranty. If you are working through a whole room, matching the switch plates to the socket fronts on the same wall does more for the look than any single fitting, and copper reads best against a warm or mid tone paint.

What is the current rating of this switch?

Each gang is rated 10AX, which covers normal domestic lighting circuits including LED, halogen and filament lamps.

Can I use it as a one way switch?

Yes. Each gang is a two way switch, and it works perfectly well as a one way switch by leaving the spare terminal unused.

What size is the plate?

It measures 88mm by 88mm, with a depth of 25mm behind the face.

What does screwless mean here?

The visible front has no screw heads on it, so the copper face stays unbroken across all three gangs.

How should I clean the copper finish?

A dry microfibre cloth is all it needs. Avoid solvents, polishes and abrasive creams, which can strip or cloud the finish.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and intended for dry indoor rooms only.
