Description

This wooden mantel plaque marks twenty-five years with a flowing gold cut-out that reads "25 Years" in looping script, the figures sweeping up into an open heart. From the top of the heart hangs a small clear faceted drop that catches the light as you pass. The cut-out rises from a neat cream base, and across its face the words "of love and happiness" are picked out in gold, so the whole piece reads "25 Years of love and happiness". It stands 12.3cm high, 15cm wide and 2cm deep, a compact size that sits comfortably among cards and photographs without crowding them.

The plaque stands on its own base, so it needs no hook or nail. Set it on a mantelpiece, a sideboard, a bookshelf or a bedside table, wherever a quarter of a century deserves a place in view. The cream and gold sit quietly in most rooms, from a warm living room to a pale bedroom, and the open heart keeps the piece looking light on a busy shelf. Its words make the meaning plain, so it keeps the years it celebrates in mind long after the day itself has passed.

This wooden plaque has a smooth cream finish on its base, with the gold script slotted into the top edge and the back of the base left plain. To care for it, dust it with a soft dry cloth, keep it away from damp and handle the hanging drop gently when you move it. Being freestanding and small, it is easy to wrap and easy to place, and we think it makes a thoughtful gift to mark twenty-five years of love and happiness, set beside a favourite photograph or card on the mantelpiece.
