The Knightsbridge BT20ACTA is a 20W LED bulkhead with selectable colour temperature switching between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, and 5700K daylight. The integrated corridor function dims the light to 10% after detecting no movement for a set period, then returns to full output when motion is detected again, saving energy in low-traffic zones such as corridors, stairwells and car parks. The IP65-rated polycarbonate body suits both indoor and outdoor installation.

Designed for wall or ceiling mounting in commercial, hospitality, education and multi-residential buildings, the bulkhead provides 1,730-1,930 lumens depending on the selected colour temperature. The 380mm circular body with an 81mm projection fits standard bulkhead mounting positions and the 115° beam angle gives wide coverage across corridors up to 3m wide. The opal diffuser eliminates visible LED hotspots and provides glare-free illumination at eye level when wall-mounted at 2-2.5m height.

The hinged LED gear tray allows access to the driver and push-fit terminal block without removing the entire body from the wall, simplifying maintenance and lamp replacement. The polycarbonate construction resists impact to IK08 standard and the Class II double-insulated design removes the need for an earth connection. How does the corridor function work?

The corridor function uses an integrated microwave sensor to detect movement. When no motion is detected for a pre-set period (typically 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on configuration), the bulkhead dims to 10% output. When movement is detected again, it returns to full brightness. This saves energy in low-traffic areas such as corridors, stairwells and fire exits.

How do I change the colour temperature?

The colour temperature is selected via a switch accessible inside the bulkhead body during installation. Once set to 3000K, 4000K or 5700K, the bulkhead retains that setting until manually changed. The CCT cannot be adjusted remotely or after installation without opening the unit.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP65 rating means the bulkhead is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor wall or soffit mounting in covered or exposed locations. The polycarbonate body resists UV degradation and impact.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED module is integrated into the bulkhead and is not user-replaceable in the traditional sense. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours means the LED will maintain at least 70% of its initial output for over a decade of continuous use. After this period, the entire unit would typically be replaced rather than the LED alone.
