Description

The Knightsbridge 20A 4-terminal junction box is a 59mm diameter enclosure moulded from white thermoset resin with knockout cable entries and four brass terminals inside. The junction box is rated to handle circuits up to 20A on 230V mains and is certified to BS EN 60670 for safe residential and commercial installation.

Designed for use above ceilings, behind walls, and in other concealed spaces where cable runs need to be joined or split, the junction box provides a fire-resistant enclosure for wire connections. The knockout entry points around the perimeter accept conduit or cable glands and can be punched out as needed during installation. The four terminals inside accept cables up to 2.5mm² cross-section and are secured with brass screws.

The white thermoset resin body resists heat, impact and UV degradation better than standard PVC enclosures, making it suitable for locations where temperature fluctuations occur or where long service life is required. The IP20 rating protects against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but does not provide water ingress protection, so the junction box is intended for dry indoor locations only. The 25mm projection from the mounting surface allows sufficient depth for cable bends inside the box without crushing conductors.

What cable size does it accept?

The four brass terminals accept cables up to 2.5mm² cross-section. Larger cables require a bigger junction box with higher-rated terminals.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the box is only protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and offers no water ingress protection. It must be installed in dry indoor locations only.

How are cables fed into the box?

The perimeter of the box has knockout entry points that can be punched out during installation. Once removed, these knockouts accept conduit fittings or cable glands to secure and seal the cable entry.

What does the 25-year warranty cover?

Knightsbridge provides a 25-year warranty on the thermoset resin body against manufacturing defects. This does not cover misuse, incorrect installation, or damage from external sources.
