Description

The Knightsbridge FPF2GBC is a 2-gang modular floor plate with a brushed chrome finish, a spring-loaded hinged lid, and a foam gasket seal. The plate accepts two 25x50mm euro module inserts (or one 50x50mm insert), allowing configuration with HDMI, RCA, USB, data, or telephone modules depending on installation requirements. The flat plate profile sits 16.2mm above floor level when installed.

Designed for commercial installations where AV, data or power connections are needed at floor level — boardrooms, hotel guest rooms, open-plan offices, conference centres — the plate mounts into a floor void or raised access floor cavity using the integrated fixing points. The spring-loaded lid stays closed when not in use, preventing dust and debris from entering the void. The foam gasket around the aperture edge provides additional protection against dust ingress, rated at IP20.

The brushed chrome finish is a directional linear grain on premium-grade steel, giving a mid-tone metallic appearance that pairs with both warm and cool colour schemes. The plate measures 94.5mm x 86mm, slightly larger than a standard twin wall socket, and includes an earth terminal for bonding to the floor void metalwork. What modules does the plate accept?

The plate accepts two 25x50mm euro modules (e.g. HDMI, USB, RCA, data keystones) or one 50x50mm euro module. Modules are sold separately and clip into the aperture from above once the floor plate is installed.

What depth is needed below the floor plate?

Minimum void depth depends on the chosen module. Most euro modules require 35-50mm clearance below the plate. Check the module specification before installation to ensure adequate depth in the floor void or raised access floor cavity.

Is the lid spring-loaded to stay closed?

Yes. The hinged lid uses a spring mechanism to hold itself closed when not in use, preventing dust and debris from entering the floor void. The foam gasket around the aperture edge provides additional dust protection rated at IP20.

Can it be installed in carpet or vinyl flooring?

The plate is designed for hard floors, raised access floors and floor voids where the cutout can be made cleanly. Installation into carpet requires careful cutting around the 94.5 x 86mm footprint and is not recommended for thick-pile carpet where the lid may catch on fibres.
