Description

The Knightsbridge SFR994SB is a 2-gang DP switched socket plate with integrated USB-A and USB-C fast charge ports, plus four 25x50mm Euro module apertures for AV, data or telecoms inserts. The smoked bronze screwless faceplate with black insert combines power, charging and modular flexibility behind a single wall plate, removing the need for separate data and power outlets in media walls or office installations.

Designed for home cinema walls, home offices, hotel suites and commercial meeting rooms, the plate accommodates standard 13A power loads alongside fast-charge USB and up to four additional modules such as HDMI, CAT6, speaker binding posts or coax connectors. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole designs. The USB ports deliver intelligent fast charging up to 18W, with the USB-C port supporting USB-PD (Power Delivery) for iPhone 8 and later, and the USB-A port supporting QC3.0 for Android devices.

The smoked bronze finish is a dark metallic tone that sits between gunmetal and oil-rubbed bronze, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and dark-toned interiors. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings once installed. The black insert behind the plate conceals the back of the aperture and gives a defined edge to each outlet and module slot. The plate requires a minimum 35mm back box depth to accommodate the socket mechanism and USB charging circuitry.

The USB fast-charge circuitry auto-switches voltage from 5V to 12V depending on device capability, delivering the maximum charge rate the connected device can accept. Devices drawing low current at 0-70% battery charge typically receive fast-charge rates; above 70% the USB ports revert to standard charging to preserve long-term battery health. Overheat and overload protection is integrated, and the ErP-compliant standby mode draws 0.1W when no devices are connected.

The four 25x50mm apertures accept standard Knightsbridge Euro modules including HDMI, CAT6 data, CAT5e, coax, speaker binding posts, 3.5mm audio, USB data (not charging), blank plates and more. Each aperture is independently configured, so you can mix AV, data and telecoms modules as needed.

What is the USB fast-charge output?

The USB ports deliver up to 18W combined. The USB-C port supports USB-PD (Power Delivery) for iPhone 8 and later, and the USB-A port supports QC3.0 for Android devices. Legacy devices receive up to 10W (USB-A) or 15W (USB-C). The circuitry auto-switches voltage from 5V to 12V depending on device capability.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed to accommodate the socket mechanism, USB charging circuitry and module inserts. The plate adds 9.5mm projection from the wall once installed.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or module inserts.
