Description

This cream stoneware mug celebrates a 16th birthday with "Sweet 16" across the front in gold lettering over a soft lilac brushstroke. Beneath the large gold number sit the words "lovely, wonderful you", and beside them is a little illustration of a figure holding up an oversized lilac cupcake topped with two tall candles, surrounded by tiny gold stars and hearts. Turn the handle towards you and there is one more message along its top: "you are so special". The mug stands 8.5cm tall, 13cm across and 12cm deep, with a gently tapered body that is wider at the base and a generous loop handle.

It is a lovely way to mark someone turning sixteen, whether it is wrapped for the birthday morning or handed over at the party with a card. The gold and lilac design gives the day a little sparkle, and once the candles are out it settles into daily life as a favourite cup for tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
