Description
The Knightsbridge IN0014 is a 16A 3-phase industrial plug with neutral and earth terminals, rated IP44 for protection against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The plug terminates 415V three-phase cables for connection to industrial sockets in construction, event, manufacturing and temporary power distribution installations.
Designed for field installation rather than factory-fitted leads, the plug accepts cable entries through a rear gland and provides screw terminals for the five cores (three phases, neutral, earth). The red and white polypropylene housing resists impact and UV degradation, while the internal brass pin assembly maintains contact pressure across repeated plug and unplug cycles. The 66mm diameter body and grip ribs allow handling with gloved hands.
The IP44 rating makes the plug suitable for outdoor and semi-exposed sites where rain, dust or hose-down cleaning occur, but not for prolonged submersion or high-pressure washing. The plug mates with standard IEC 60309 16A 3P+N+E sockets (red), which are common across European industrial and hire fleets. The 130mm overall length includes the cable entry gland and the protruding pin assembly when fully tightened.

Frequently Asked
What cable size does this plug accept?
The rear cable gland typically accepts 5-core flexible cables between 6mm² and 10mm² conductor size. Check the specification sheet in the Downloads tab for the exact cable entry range and tightening torque requirements.
Is this plug compatible with standard industrial sockets?
Yes. This plug conforms to IEC 60309 and mates with red 16A 3P+N+E industrial sockets, which are the European standard for 415V three-phase connections. The pin configuration prevents mating with lower-voltage blue or yellow industrial connectors.
Can this plug be used outdoors?
The IP44 rating provides protection against rain and dust, making it suitable for outdoor construction sites, events and temporary installations. It is not rated for submersion or high-pressure washing. When not in use, store the plug under cover or fit a protective cap to maintain the IP rating.
What is the current rating?
The plug is rated for 16A continuous current at 415V three-phase (approximately 11kW total load). Do not exceed this rating as overloading can cause overheating and damage to the plug terminals or connected equipment.
