The angled outlet face positions the plug connection at approximately 45° to the mounting surface, directing cable runs downward or sideways rather than straight out from the panel, which reduces strain on the cable entry point and improves cable management in confined spaces.

What panel thickness does the socket require?

The socket requires a 40mm recessed depth behind the panel face for installation. The panel material itself can vary in thickness, but the cutout must allow the rear housing to sit 40mm behind the mounting surface.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?

The IP44 rating provides protection against water splashes but not sustained rain or submersion. For outdoor installations the socket should be mounted under a cover, in a weatherproof enclosure, or in a sheltered position where direct rainfall cannot reach it.

What plug type is compatible?

The socket accepts a standard IEC 60309 16A 415V 3P+N+E industrial plug, recognisable by the red housing and five-pin configuration. These plugs are widely available and used across industrial equipment in the UK and Europe.
