Description

This 150W LED driver converts AC 100-240V mains to 48V DC output for magnetic track lighting systems. The unit measures 159mm long, 97mm wide and 30mm high, fitting into compact ceiling voids or track housings where traditional drivers cannot. The Mean Well brand label visible in the image indicates industrial-grade power regulation, delivering stable voltage to LED track heads without flicker or voltage drop across the run.

Designed for residential, retail and office installations where magnetic track systems require centralised power, the driver supports up to 150W total load across all track heads on a single circuit. This capacity handles 10-15 typical LED track spotlights depending on wattage per head. The perforated metal casing provides passive cooling through convection, allowing the driver to run continuously without forced ventilation in ambient temperatures up to 40°C.

The AC 100-240V input voltage range means the driver works across UK 230V mains and international 110V systems without modification, making it suitable for projects requiring international compatibility. The terminal block on the right side of the unit accepts wire gauges from 0.5mm² to 2.5mm² for both input and output connections, with clearly labelled polarity indicators. The metal chassis mounts via four corner holes and the low 30mm profile allows the driver to sit flush in shallow ceiling spaces.

This driver works with 48V DC magnetic track systems from Maytoni and other manufacturers using the same voltage standard. Verify your track system operates at 48V DC before installation — some magnetic track uses 24V DC or mains voltage and would require a different driver.

How many track lights can it power?

The 150W capacity supports 10-15 LED track spotlights depending on wattage per head. A typical 10W LED track head allows for 15 heads on a single driver, while 15W heads reduce the count to 10. Do not exceed 150W total combined load.

Does it need ventilation or forced cooling?

No. The perforated metal casing provides passive cooling through convection. The driver runs continuously in ambient temperatures up to 40°C without additional ventilation, but should not be enclosed in an insulated space or covered with thermal insulation material.

Is it suitable for dimming systems?

Check the product manual in the Downloads section for dimming compatibility. Some Mean Well drivers support 0-10V or PWM dimming protocols, while others provide fixed output only. Dimming capability depends on the specific model variant.
