14W CCT Adjustable Dimmable LED Bulkhead - White IP65 DALI

The Knightsbridge BT14ACTDALI is a 14W LED bulkhead with CCT adjustment across 3000K, 4000K and 5700K colour temperatures, DALI dimming control and an IP65 rating for internal and external wall or ceiling mounting. The 315mm diameter white polycarbonate housing holds integrated SMD LEDs behind an opal diffuser, delivering 1230-1410 lumens depending on the CCT setting selected.

Designed for corridors, stairwells, storage areas, utility rooms, covered external walkways and commercial circulation spaces, the bulkhead mounts directly to walls or ceilings using a hinged LED gear tray and push-fit terminal block for faster installation. The IP65 rating provides protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for outdoor canopies, loading bays and damp internal environments including plant rooms and underground car parks.

The CCT adjustment is set via a switch on the gear tray before installation, allowing the colour temperature to be chosen based on the application (3000K for warm residential spaces, 4000K for offices and commercial areas, 5700K for high-activity task zones). Once installed, the DALI protocol allows the bulkhead to be dimmed and controlled as part of a building management system or standalone DALI dimmer circuit. The polycarbonate construction provides impact resistance up to IK08, and the Class II double-insulated design means no earth connection is required.

The SMD LED array is rated for 50,000 hours at L70B50, meaning 70% of the initial lumen output will still be present at 50,000 hours of operation for half of the units in a batch. At 8 hours per day use, this equates to approximately 17 years before maintenance is needed. The 115-degree beam angle provides wide-area coverage suitable for general illumination rather than spot or accent lighting.

How is the CCT adjusted?

The colour temperature is set using a switch on the LED gear tray before installation. The tray is hinged, so you open it, set the switch to 3000K, 4000K or 5700K, then close and mount the unit. Once installed, the CCT cannot be changed without removing the bulkhead.

Is DALI dimming required or can it run on standard mains?

The bulkhead runs on standard 230V mains and will operate at full output without a DALI controller. DALI dimming is an optional feature — if you connect it to a DALI circuit or building management system, you can dim and control it remotely. Without DALI, it functions as a non-dimmable bulkhead.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as canopies, loading bays, external corridors and building entrances. It is not rated for full submersion or continuous direct rain exposure.

What is the expected lifespan?

The LED array is rated at 50,000 hours to L70B50. At 8 hours per day use, this equates to approximately 17 years before the unit drops to 70% of its initial lumen output. The 5-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.
