Description

The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur with neon indicator provides a dedicated, fused connection point for fixed appliances such as kitchen extractors, boilers, intruder alarms and heated towel rails. The gunmetal flat plate finish sits 2.5mm proud of the wall, making this one of the lowest-profile fused spurs available in the Knightsbridge range.

The unit houses a 13A fuse in a matching gunmetal fuse holder, allowing the fused appliance to be isolated and protected independently from the ring main. The integrated neon indicator lights red when the switch is in the 'on' position, giving clear confirmation that power is live to the connected appliance. This is particularly useful for appliances concealed in cupboards or where the switch controls equipment in another room.

Constructed from premium-grade steel with an IP20 rating, the fused spur is certified to BS 1363-4 and requires a minimum 25mm back box depth for installation. The gunmetal finish provides a dark metallic neutral that pairs with contemporary interiors, stainless steel appliances and industrial-style schemes. An integrated gasket between the back box and faceplate ensures a flush, draught-free finish once fitted. Knightsbridge backs the unit with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What appliances is a fused spur used for?

Fused spurs provide a dedicated, fused connection for fixed appliances that do not plug into a standard 13A socket. Common applications include kitchen extractors, electric boilers, electric towel rails, intruder alarms, electric heaters and bathroom fans. The 13A fuse protects the appliance and its cable independently from the ring main.

What does the neon indicator show?

The neon indicator lights red when the switch is in the 'on' position, confirming that live power is available to the connected appliance. This is useful for appliances concealed in cupboards or where the switch is located away from the appliance itself, as it provides visual confirmation without needing to check the appliance.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The faceplate adds 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making this one of the lowest-profile fused spurs in the Knightsbridge range.

Is the fuse holder removable?

Yes. The fuse holder is accessed from the front of the unit and can be removed to replace the 13A fuse or to isolate the appliance by removing the fuse entirely. The fuse holder finish matches the gunmetal faceplate.
