Description
The Knightsbridge M6300NF is a metal clad 13A switched fused spur with a neon indicator and flex outlet, built from powder-coated SPCC steel in a silver-grey finish. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when off, and the neon indicator confirms when power is flowing to the connected appliance. The flex outlet allows cable to exit directly from the faceplate without needing a separate grommet or conduit termination.
Designed for hardwired appliances in utility rooms, garages, kitchens and light commercial settings where a metal construction is preferred over plastic faceplates. The metal clad housing provides mechanical protection against impact and abrasion in workshop environments, commercial kitchens and plant rooms where standard plastic accessories may be vulnerable. The unit is supplied with an integral back box, so no separate mounting box is needed during installation.
The 81.2mm square faceplate projects 48.4mm from the wall when fitted, a deeper profile than standard flush-mount accessories due to the metal construction and integrated back box. The powder-coated finish resists corrosion and surface scratching better than bare metal, maintaining appearance in damp or dusty locations. The captive terminals hold cable securely without needing separate grub screws, and the earth terminal provides Class I protection. Rated IP20 for indoor use in dry and damp locations.

Frequently Asked
What is a fused spur used for?
A fused spur isolates and protects hardwired appliances like kitchen extractor fans, boilers, water heaters and fixed machinery. The 13A fuse inside the unit prevents overload on the circuit feeding the appliance, and the switch allows the appliance to be isolated without switching off the entire ring main at the consumer unit.
Does this need a separate back box?
No. The M6300NF is supplied with an integral metal back box, so it can be surface-mounted directly onto the wall without needing a separate flush-mount box. This makes installation faster in locations where chasing the wall for a flush box is impractical.
What does the neon indicator show?
The neon indicator lights when the switch is in the on position and power is flowing to the appliance. This provides a visual confirmation that the circuit is live, useful in plant rooms or utility areas where the connected appliance may not have its own visible status light.
Can it be used outdoors?
No. The M6300NF is rated IP20, which is suitable for indoor use in dry and damp locations only. For outdoor or wet-area installation, use an accessory rated IP54 or higher with a weatherproof enclosure.
