What is a fused spur used for?

A fused spur provides permanent switched control for fixed appliances that do not plug into a standard socket. What does the neon indicator show?

The red neon indicator lights up when the switch is in the on position and mains power is live to the appliance. This provides visual confirmation that the circuit is energised, which is useful for appliances that do not have their own indicator lights.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 10.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted. Use a standard UK single-gang metal back box.
