Description

The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit provides switched isolation for fixed appliances such as bathroom heaters, extractor fans, immersion heaters and boilers. The unit houses a 13A fuse and a rocker switch behind a polished chrome screwless faceplate made from premium-grade steel, giving a clean finish with no visible fixings once installed.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the fused spur sits between the ring main and the fixed appliance, allowing the appliance to be switched on or off and providing overcurrent protection through the replaceable 13A fuse. The rocker switch is clearly marked and sits flush with the faceplate. An integrated gasket behind the plate improves dust resistance and gives a tighter fit against the wall surface.

The polished chrome finish provides a bright metallic accent that pairs well with modern kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, meaning there are no screw heads visible on the wall once fitted. The unit is certified to BS 1363-4 and rated IP20 for indoor dry locations. The 25mm minimum back box depth makes it compatible with standard UK mounting boxes.

The 13A rating handles fixed appliances drawing up to 3,000W on a 230V supply. Common applications include bathroom extractor fans, wall-mounted heaters, immersion heaters, boilers, and hardwired kitchen appliances. The fuse provides overcurrent protection and the switch allows the appliance to be isolated without touching the consumer unit.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a low-profile finish.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The polished chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is screw-fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or decorating around the unit and re-clipped without re-wiring.

Does the unit have a neon indicator?

No. This model does not include a neon indicator light to show when the switch is on. The rocker position indicates the on/off state.
