Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit provides circuit protection for hardwired appliances behind a polished brass screwless faceplate. The unit incorporates a fuse holder rated to 13A, a rocker switch to isolate the circuit, and terminals for live, neutral and earth connections. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed.
Designed for hardwired appliances that require dedicated circuit protection, the fused spur is typically used for extractor fans, boilers, under-cabinet lighting, bathroom shaver sockets, and similar fixed electrical loads. The rocker switch allows the appliance to be isolated without accessing the consumer unit, making it easier to safely disconnect equipment for maintenance or replacement. The unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and is certified to BS 1363-4 for UK electrical installations.
The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs well with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The premium-grade steel construction gives the faceplate rigidity and a consistent finish tone. The built-in gasket behind the faceplate improves the fit against the wall and reduces flex when the rocker switch is operated. The IP20 rating confirms the unit is suitable for dry indoor locations, with the matching brass fuse holder and rocker maintaining visual consistency across the faceplate.

Frequently Asked
What appliances require a fused spur?
Fused spurs are used for hardwired appliances that need dedicated circuit protection, including extractor fans, boilers, bathroom shaver sockets, under-cabinet lighting, alarm systems, and central heating controls. The fused spur protects the appliance circuit separately from the main ring circuit.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the unit and re-clipped without re-wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
