Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit combines a rocker switch, fuse holder, neon indicator and flex outlet behind a gunmetal flat plate. The unit provides switched control and over-current protection for fixed appliances like kitchen extractors, bathroom fans, boilers and washing machines, with the flex outlet allowing direct cable exit without a separate plug-top connection.
Designed for residential and commercial installation, the fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses an ultra-low-profile flat plate that projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted. The built-in gasket sits between the plate and the wall surface, creating a flush fit that minimises the visible gap around the edge. The neon indicator glows red when the circuit is live and switched on, providing at-a-glance confirmation of power status.
The gunmetal finish is a dark grey-brown metallic tone produced on premium-grade steel, giving a warmer alternative to matt black or brushed chrome in contemporary, industrial and transitional interiors. The matching fuse holder accepts standard BS 1362 13A fuses. The unit is certified to BS 1363-4 and carries a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What is a fused spur used for?
A fused spur provides switched control and over-current protection for a fixed appliance wired directly into the mains circuit. Common uses include kitchen extractors, bathroom fans, boilers, dishwashers and washing machines. The flex outlet allows the appliance cable to exit the unit directly without needing a separate plug and socket.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The ultra-low-profile flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of 27.5mm from the back of the back box to the face of the plate.
What does the neon indicator show?
The neon indicator glows red when the circuit is live and the switch is in the on position. This provides at-a-glance confirmation that power is being supplied to the connected appliance. The neon goes dark when the switch is off or when the circuit is isolated at the consumer unit.
What fuse does it take?
The unit accepts a standard BS 1362 13A cartridge fuse, the same type used in UK plug-tops. The fuse holder is accessible from the front of the plate and matches the gunmetal finish of the faceplate.
