Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur provides switched control and fuse protection for hardwired appliances, housed behind a brushed brass flat plate with a 2.5mm ultra-low profile. The unit accepts a standard 13A fuse (supplied) and includes a matching brushed brass fuse holder that sits flush with the plate surface.
Designed for kitchens, utility rooms and commercial installations where appliances such as extractor hoods, water heaters, or wall-mounted ovens require permanent connection rather than plug-in sockets, the fused spur allows the appliance to be isolated without needing to access a consumer unit. The rocker switch breaks both live and neutral, and the fuse holder can be removed to replace the fuse cartridge without exposing live terminals. A built-in gasket between the steel plate and the back box prevents dust ingress and improves IP20 performance.
The brushed brass finish is applied to premium-grade steel, giving a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional and transitional interiors. The flat plate design projects just 2.5mm from the wall once installed on a 25mm minimum back box, sitting nearly flush with plaster and reducing the visual and physical prominence of the fitting. Certified to BS 1363-4 and backed by Knightsbridge's 25-year warranty, the unit meets UK safety standards for fused connection units.

Frequently Asked
What appliances is this suitable for?
The 13A fused spur is designed for hardwired appliances such as extractor hoods, wall ovens, water heaters, bathroom fans, and commercial kitchen equipment. It provides switched isolation and fuse protection without requiring a plug socket.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall, making it one of the lowest-profile fused spur designs available.
Does it include a fuse?
Yes, the unit is supplied with a 13A fuse cartridge. The fuse holder is removable for fuse replacement without exposing live terminals.
Is the plate fixed with visible screws?
This is a flat plate design with visible screw fixings. The screws are finished in matching brushed brass to coordinate with the plate. For a screwless finish, see Knightsbridge's screwless range.
