Description

The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur provides controlled power to fixed appliances through a pearl-finished flat plate with an integrated neon indicator and flex outlet. The unit combines a 13A fuse holder with a rocker switch that isolates the circuit when turned off, while the red neon indicator confirms when the spur is energised.

Designed for permanent appliance connections such as water heaters, extractor fans, kitchen appliances and air conditioning units, the flex outlet allows a cable to exit through the faceplate rather than routing behind the plate. This suits installations where the appliance flex needs to enter from the front of the wall rather than being wired directly into the back box. The switch provides local isolation without needing to access the consumer unit.

The pearl finish is a light metallic tone that sits between brushed chrome and satin nickel, offering a neutral accent for modern interiors, commercial spaces and hospitality environments. The flat plate sits just 2.5mm proud of the wall once fitted to a 25mm minimum back box, giving a low-profile installation. The premium-grade steel construction carries a 25-year warranty and meets BS 1363-4 safety standards for fused connection units.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between a fused spur and a standard socket?

A fused spur provides a permanent connection to a fixed appliance rather than a plug-in socket. The 13A fuse protects the appliance circuit, and the switch allows local isolation. Fused spurs are typically used for water heaters, extractor fans, cooker hoods and other permanently-wired appliances.

What does the flex outlet do?

The flex outlet is a cable entry point on the faceplate that allows the appliance flex to exit through the front of the plate rather than being hard-wired into the back box. This suits installations where routing the cable behind the plate is not practical.

What does the neon indicator show?

The red neon indicator illuminates when the spur is switched on and the circuit is live. This provides a visual confirmation that power is being supplied to the connected appliance.

What other finishes are available in this range?

Knightsbridge produces this flat plate fused spur in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, matt black, antique brass and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
