Description

The Knightsbridge 13A fused spur unit provides switched isolation and fuse protection for hardwired appliances behind a polished brass screwless faceplate. The unit accepts a standard 13A cartridge fuse in a matching brass fuse holder that sits flush with the cover plate, with a built-in gasket sealing the back of the fuse compartment against dust ingress.

Designed for hardwired connections to fixed appliances such as wall-mounted heaters, extractor fans, boilers, water heaters and kitchen appliances that require switched isolation and overcurrent protection, the spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed.

The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs well with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The premium-grade steel construction carries a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge and meets BS 1363-4 certification for switched and unswitched connection units. The 87.5mm square faceplate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, maintaining a low profile that sits close to the surface.

Frequently Asked

What is a fused spur used for?

A fused spur provides switched isolation and fuse protection for hardwired appliances that cannot be unplugged from a socket. Common applications include wall-mounted heaters, extractor fans, boilers, water heaters and fixed kitchen appliances where a dedicated switched connection with overcurrent protection is required by wiring regulations.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the spur and re-clipped without re-wiring.

What other finishes are available?

Knightsbridge produces this fused spur in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
