Description

The Knightsbridge 13A fused spur unit provides a switched and fused connection point for fixed appliances such as boilers, water heaters, extractor fans and wall-mounted kitchen equipment. The pearl finish steel faceplate sits 2.5mm proud of the wall, giving an ultra-flat profile that minimises projection from the surface. The unit is certified to BS 1363-4 and carries a 13A rating at 230V 50Hz.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and includes a built-in gasket that seals the back of the plate to the mounting box, reducing dust ingress during installation. The switch isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, and the fuse holder is accessible from the front of the plate without removing the unit from the wall, allowing fuse replacement without re-wiring.

The pearl finish is a soft off-white with a subtle metallic sheen, sitting between pure white and warmer cream tones. The premium-grade steel construction provides rigidity under installation torque and a durable surface that resists scratching and discolouration over time. Common applications include boilers, extractor fans, water heaters, wall-mounted ovens and kitchen appliances that exceed the current rating of a standard 13A plug.

Can the fuse be replaced without removing the unit?

Yes. The fuse holder is accessible from the front of the plate. Turn the switch off, remove the fuse holder cover, replace the fuse with a like-for-like 13A cartridge fuse, and refit the cover. No re-wiring or removal from the wall is needed.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is required for safe installation. The 2.5mm projection of the faceplate adds minimal bulk to the final wall finish.

Is this rated for bathroom use?

The IP20 rating means this unit is not rated for bathroom zones where water spray or high humidity is present. For bathroom extractor fans installed outside splash zones, consult a qualified electrician to confirm zone compliance before installation.
