Designed for residential, commercial and light industrial installation, the fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses premium-grade steel construction with a dark gunmetal finish that pairs with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. The flat plate design sits nearly flush with the wall surface, giving a lower profile than traditional raised or domed plates. A built-in gasket behind the faceplate improves dust resistance and provides a cleaner edge seal against painted or tiled wall surfaces.

What is a fused spur used for?

A fused spur provides switched isolation and overcurrent protection for permanently wired appliances such as boilers, extractor fans, water heaters and kitchen appliances. It allows the appliance to be switched on and off without needing to unplug it, and the fuse protects the appliance circuit separately from the ring main.

What fuse rating does it take?

The unit accepts a standard BS 1362 13A cartridge fuse. The fuse should be rated to match the appliance load — typically 3A for low-draw appliances like extractor fans or 13A for higher-draw appliances like water heaters. The fuse is not included and must be purchased separately.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The 2.5mm projection of the faceplate means the total wall projection is approximately 27.5mm once fitted.

Does it have a neon indicator?

No. This model does not include a neon indicator light. If you need visual confirmation that the spur is powered, Knightsbridge produces versions of this fused spur with neon indicators in the same finish range.
