Description
The Knightsbridge 13A fused spur unit provides a switched and fused connection for fixed appliances such as bathroom heaters, cooker hoods, extractor fans and under-counter fridges. The black nickel screwless faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings for a clean wall finish. The matching fuse holder integrates into the plate design rather than sitting as a separate module.
Designed for residential and commercial installations, the unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and carries BS 1363-4 certification for fused connection units. The 13A rating handles loads up to 3,000W on 230V mains, making it suitable for most fixed kitchen and bathroom appliances. A built-in gasket sits between the faceplate and the wall, reducing dust ingress and improving IP20 protection.
The black nickel finish is a dark gunmetal tone with low reflectivity, sitting between brushed black chrome and matt black in appearance. It pairs well with industrial, contemporary and monochrome schemes where warm metallic tones like brass or copper would clash. The screwless plate sits 4.3mm proud of the wall once fitted, giving a lower profile than traditional screw-fixed plates.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between a fused spur and a socket?
A fused spur provides a fixed, fused connection for hard-wired appliances like bathroom heaters or cooker hoods. Unlike a socket, it cannot have plugs removed or other appliances swapped in. The fuse protects the appliance circuit separately from the ring main.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of approximately 29-30mm including the sub-frame.
What appliances can it supply?
The 13A rating handles fixed appliances up to 3,000W on 230V mains. Common applications include bathroom heaters, extractor fans, cooker hoods, under-counter fridges, wall-mounted boilers and outdoor security lights wired through the unit.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the spur and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or the sub-frame.
