Description

This 13A fused module is a single-width grid component designed to provide fused protection for fixed appliances within Knightsbridge's modular grid wiring system. The module holds a replaceable 13A fuse behind a black nickel faceplate, with the word 'FUSE' embossed into the rocker for clear identification. It clips into Knightsbridge grid mounting frames from the front, allowing installation or replacement without removing the frame from the back box.

Grid modules are used in kitchen and utility room installations where multiple switches, sockets and fused connections need to be grouped into a single multi-gang plate. This fused module is typically paired with a switched module to create a fused spur for a hardwired appliance such as a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher or boiler. The module operates on standard 230V 50Hz mains and fits Knightsbridge grid frames that require a minimum 35mm back box depth.

The black nickel finish is a dark gunmetal tone with a subtle satin sheen, sitting between brushed steel and matt black in appearance. The module body is ABS plastic with steel internal components, rated IP20 for indoor dry-location use. The fuse is user-replaceable without tools by pulling the rocker forward to release the fuse carrier from the rear of the module. Knightsbridge backs this module with a 25-year warranty.

This module requires a Knightsbridge grid mounting frame, sold separately. Frames are available in 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang configurations to accommodate different numbers of modules. The frame must be compatible with a minimum 35mm back box depth.

How is the fuse replaced?

Pull the black nickel rocker forward to release the fuse carrier from the rear of the module. The 13A fuse can then be removed and replaced without tools. Standard 13A BS1362 fuses are used, available from most electrical retailers.

Can this be used without a switch?

Yes, though most installations pair the fused module with a separate switched module to create a switched fused spur. This allows the appliance to be isolated without pulling the fuse. Both modules clip into the same grid frame.

What appliances is this suited for?
