Description

The Knightsbridge 13A fused grid module provides circuit protection for fixed appliances in a brushed brass finish, designed to fit into modular grid mounting frames. The module accepts a standard 13A fuse cartridge (included) which can be replaced without removing the module from the wall, allowing maintenance without re-wiring.

Intended for residential and commercial fixed appliance circuits — boilers, extractor fans, water heaters, towel rails — the module clips into a separate grid mounting frame (sold separately) rather than directly into a back box. This allows multiple grid modules to be combined in a single faceplate, reducing the number of individual faceplates needed on a wall. The 35mm minimum mounting box depth accommodates standard UK back boxes.

The brushed brass faceplate has a low-sheen directional grain finish that softens reflections and pairs with traditional, classical and warm-toned interiors. The module body is constructed from ABS plastic with a steel fuse holder, rated IP20 for dry indoor locations. The 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.

Does this module include a mounting frame?

No. The module clips into a separate Knightsbridge grid mounting frame, sold separately. Grid frames are available in 1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang and 4-gang configurations to accommodate single or multiple modules in a single faceplate.

What fuse does it take?

The module takes a standard 13A cartridge fuse, which is included. Replacement fuses are widely available and can be changed by removing the front faceplate without disconnecting the wiring behind.

What appliances is this suitable for?

This fused module suits fixed appliances that require circuit protection at the point of connection: boilers, extractor fans, electric towel rails, water heaters, and other permanently wired equipment drawing up to 13A (3,000W at 230V).

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the module is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For outdoor or damp locations (bathrooms, kitchens near sinks), use an IP-rated enclosure or a different product with a higher IP rating.
