Description
The Knightsbridge 13A DP key lockable socket provides controlled access to mains power through a rotary key switch that can be set to On or Off and then locked in position. The 2-gang plate features a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with white insert, fitting a minimum 47mm back box depth. Two keys are supplied with each socket, allowing authorised users to enable or disable power while preventing unsupervised use.
Designed for hotels, serviced apartments, student accommodation, shared office spaces and communal facilities where electrical access needs to be managed, the socket prevents appliances from being powered when unattended. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is turned off, providing a full isolation rather than just breaking the live conductor. The 13A rating supports standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.
The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed. The brushed chrome finish provides a mid-reflective metallic surface that resists fingerprints better than polished chrome, whilst the white insert behind the faceplate gives a clean edge to each outlet aperture. The premium-grade steel construction carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty and an IP20 rating for indoor dry locations.

Frequently Asked
How does the key lock work?
The rotary key switch is turned to either On or Off, then the key is removed to lock the socket in that position. Without the key, the switch cannot be changed. This prevents guests, tenants or other users from powering appliances when the socket has been locked to Off, or from switching off appliances when the socket has been locked to On.
What back box depth is required?
A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 3.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
Can I order replacement keys?
Two keys are supplied with each socket. Contact Knightsbridge directly or the seller if replacement keys are needed, as the key type may vary between production batches and cannot be universally sourced.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces key lockable sockets in a range of finishes including polished chrome, matt black, antique brass and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
