Description

The Knightsbridge SN9904 is a 13A 2-gang SP switched socket with two USB-A charging ports, delivering a shared 5V DC 3.1A output behind a white square-edge thermoset resin faceplate. Single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, whilst the USB ports remain powered for continuous device charging.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the socket fits a 25mm minimum back box depth (35mm recommended where cable runs are tight) and uses screw-cap covers that hide fixing screws once the plate is tightened to the wall. Top-access captive terminals speed up wiring and twin earthing points provide reliable grounding across both outlets. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.

The white thermoset resin construction resists heat discolouration better than thermoplastic alternatives and incorporates anti-microbial properties to reduce surface bacteria build-up in high-touch areas like kitchens and bathrooms. The square-edge profile sits flush to the wall with a 9mm plate thickness, giving a clean finish without rounded corners or bevels. A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. Where cable runs are tight or multiple cables enter the back box, a 35mm depth is recommended to allow sufficient space for wiring without compressing conductors against the back of the socket.

The dual USB-A ports provide a shared 5V DC 3.1A output. When both ports are in use simultaneously, the 3.1A is divided between connected devices. Most phones and tablets charge at standard speeds, though fast-charge protocols are not supported.
