Description

The Knightsbridge CU9002 is a 13A 2-gang single-pole switched socket with one USB-A and one USB-C port, delivering 5V DC 4.8A shared output across both USB ports. The white rounded edge faceplate has a 7mm gently contoured profile and outboard rockers positioned outside the main plate for easier switching access.

Designed for residential bedrooms, home offices and hospitality installations where combined mains power and USB charging are needed at a single point, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth (35mm for surface mounting with the CU1800 pattress box). The outboard rocker design means the switches sit proud of the faceplate, making them easier to operate without needing to reach into a recessed aperture. The single-pole switching isolates the live line only when off, suitable for general domestic loads.

The thermoset resin construction carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, making the socket suitable for clinical, care and hospitality environments where surface hygiene matters. The top access captive terminals and twin earth connections simplify installation by allowing cables to be inserted and secured from above without needing to access the back of the mounting box. The 4.8A shared output across both USB ports means faster charging for phones and tablets compared to older 2.1A sockets, though the output divides between devices when both ports are in use simultaneously.
