Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang SP switched socket adds one USB-A and one USB-C charging port behind an antique brass screwless faceplate with black inserts. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, while the dual USB ports share a 5V DC 4A output (20W max) for overnight charging of phones, tablets and small devices.
Designed for bedrooms, lounges, home offices and hospitality installations, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W per outlet. The USB-C port supports modern fast-charge protocols for compatible devices, while the USB-A retains compatibility with older cables.
The antique brass finish is created through a controlled patina process on 201 stainless steel, giving the faceplate a warm aged-metal appearance with subtle tonal variation. The finish pairs well with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The 4.3mm plate depth and 9.3mm projection from the wall give a low-profile installation, while the screwless design hides fixings for a cleaner visual finish than traditional screw-fixed plates.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box depth is needed, with 35mm preferred where wiring conditions allow. The screwless cover plate adds 9.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What's the USB charging output?
The dual USB ports share a 5V DC 4A output with a maximum 20W across both ports. The USB-C port supports fast-charge protocols for compatible devices. Use certified 30W+ USB cables to ensure performance and safety.
What's the difference between SP and DP switching?
SP (single-pole) switching isolates the live line only when switched off. DP (double-pole) switching isolates both live and neutral lines, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances. For most domestic applications SP switching is adequate.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
