Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket provides two 13A outlets with double-pole switching, twin earth terminals, and a matt black screwless faceplate. Double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The twin earth terminals accommodate installations requiring high-integrity earthing, such as commercial environments or locations with sensitive electronics.
Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. There are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The matt black finish on the premium-grade steel construction provides a low-sheen surface that minimises fingerprints and reflections, pairing well with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors.
The socket carries a 13A rating per outlet, handling standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and wall surface reduces dust ingress around the plate edges, maintaining the clean appearance over time. Certified to BS 1363:2 safety standards and backed by a 25-year manufacturer warranty, the fitting is rated IP20 for indoor dry-location use.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What are twin earth terminals used for?
Twin earth terminals provide two separate earthing connection points within the socket back box. This is required for high-integrity earthing installations, commercial settings, or where building regulations specify redundant earth paths for safety-critical circuits.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this style in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
