Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket adds two USB-C fast charge ports behind a matt white screwless faceplate made from SPCC steel. Each USB-C port supports voltage switching up to 20V DC, delivering up to 65W output through a single port or 45W + 18W when both ports are in use simultaneously. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances.
Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation where fast charging of laptops, tablets and mobile devices is needed alongside standard mains power, the socket fits a 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings once installed. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet.
The matt white finish provides a neutral backdrop that pairs with white, off-white and light-toned interiors without the glare or fingerprint visibility of gloss white finishes. The SPCC steel construction gives the faceplate rigidity and resistance to impact from furniture movement and everyday use. The USB-C ports include overvoltage (CAT III), overheat and overcurrent protection, and require USB-C cables rated at 100W or higher to handle the full 65W output safely.

Frequently Asked
What's the maximum USB-C charging output?
Each USB-C port delivers up to 65W when used individually. When both ports are in use simultaneously, the output splits to 45W on the primary port and 18W on the secondary port. The socket adjusts voltage automatically between 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 20V DC depending on the device's requirements.
What back box depth is required?
A 25-35mm back box depth is needed depending on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate adds 9.7mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with 24.7mm recessed depth behind the wall surface.
Can I use any USB-C cable?
No. Only use USB-C cables rated at 100W or higher. Lower-rated cables may overheat when delivering the full 65W output. Most modern USB-C cables for laptop charging meet this specification, but check the cable rating before use.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The matt white cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring or disturbing the mains connections.
