The Knightsbridge SFR9965BC is a 13A 2-gang double-pole switched socket with two USB-C fast charge ports delivering up to 65W total output, mounted behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a black insert. The dual USB-C ports support USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocols, dynamically adjusting power output to match connected devices — enabling laptop and tablet charging directly from the wall without a separate adapter.

Designed for office desks, hospitality rooms, kitchen counters and home tech stations, the socket provides mains power for two standard UK appliances alongside simultaneous USB-C charging. When charging a single device, the USB-C output delivers up to 65W; when two devices are connected, the power splits to 45W on port one and 18W on port two. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing additional safety over single-pole designs.

The brushed chrome faceplate is formed from 201 stainless steel with a horizontal grain finish that resists fingerprints and scratches better than polished chrome. The screwless design uses a cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings from view once installed. The socket requires a minimum 25mm back box depth, with 35mm preferred where cable runs are dense. What back box depth is needed?

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be unclipped for painting around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
