The Knightsbridge SFR9965AB is a 13A 2-gang DP switched socket with two USB-C fast charge ports behind an antique brass screwless faceplate. The USB-C ports deliver up to 65W output per port when used individually, or 45W + 18W when both ports are active simultaneously, supporting USB Power Delivery (PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocols for compatibility with smartphones, tablets and small laptops.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depth depending on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances.

The antique brass finish is applied to 201 stainless steel construction, giving a warm aged-metal appearance that pairs with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The finish shows a deliberately tarnished patina that softens reflections and adds depth under both natural and artificial light. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet, while the USB-C ports use dynamic voltage switching to match device power requirements automatically.

Built-in overload, overheat and overcurrent protection safeguards both the mains outlets and USB charging ports. The socket carries CAT III overvoltage protection and an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use. For full 65W charging performance, use 100W-rated USB-C cables — lower-rated cables will limit the output to their own maximum capacity.

A 25-35mm back box depth is needed depending on wiring conditions. The socket has a recessed depth of 24.7mm and projects 9.7mm from the wall once the screwless cover plate is fitted.

What's the USB-C charging output?

Each USB-C port delivers up to 65W (20V DC 3.25A) when used alone. When both ports are active simultaneously, the output splits to 45W on one port and 18W on the other. The socket supports USB Power Delivery (PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocols.

Do I need special cables for full charging speed?

Yes. To achieve the full 65W output, use USB-C cables rated for 100W or higher. Lower-rated cables will limit the charging speed to their own maximum capacity, even though the socket can deliver 65W.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The antique brass cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that's fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring or disturbing the mains connections.
