Description
This Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket adds two USB-C fast charge ports behind an antique brass square edge faceplate. The USB-C ports support USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) standards, delivering up to 65W combined output — enough to charge laptops, tablets and phones directly from the wall without a separate adapter. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off.
Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation where device charging is a daily requirement, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The square edge faceplate provides a contemporary angular profile that sits flush with the wall surface, with the antique brass finish adding warmth to modern, traditional and transitional interiors. The 13A rating on each outlet handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W.
The two USB-C ports share the 65W output dynamically: when one device is connected it receives up to 45W, and when two devices are connected the power splits 45W + 18W depending on the charging protocol each device requests. This allows a laptop to fast-charge on one port while a phone charges simultaneously on the other. The socket includes built-in overload, overheat and surge protection to prevent damage to connected devices during voltage spikes or faults.
The antique brass finish is applied to 430 stainless steel, giving the faceplate durability and corrosion resistance while maintaining the warm aged brass aesthetic. The square edge design has no rounded corners or bevels, creating clean lines that suit contemporary architecture and minimalist interiors. Knightsbridge specifies that only certified 100W USB-C cables should be used with the fast charge ports to ensure safe operation at high wattages.

Frequently Asked
What's the maximum wattage the USB-C ports can deliver?
The two USB-C ports share a combined 65W output. When one device is connected it receives up to 45W. When two devices are connected simultaneously, the power splits dynamically to 45W + 18W depending on what each device requests via the USB-PD protocol.
Can this charge a laptop?
Yes. The 45W output on a single port is sufficient to charge most laptops that use USB-C charging, including MacBooks, Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad and HP Spectre models. Check your laptop's wattage requirement before relying on this as the primary charger.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate projects 10.5mm from the wall surface once fitted, with 18.5mm recessed behind the wall.
What does 'square edge' mean?
Square edge refers to the angular profile of the faceplate with no rounded corners or bevelled edges. This creates clean, straight lines that suit contemporary and minimalist interiors.
