Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang DP switched socket adds one USB-C port (up to 45W) and one USB-A port (up to 18W) behind a matt black rounded-edge faceplate with a black insert. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The USB-C port supports Power Delivery (PD) and Quick Charge (QC) protocols, delivering 0-50% charge in under 30 minutes for compatible devices.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth (up to 35mm depending on wiring conditions) and uses a screw-fixed rounded-edge cover plate made from premium grade steel. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet. The USB ports provide simultaneous fast charging — 27W over USB-C and 18W over USB-A when both are in use — making the socket suitable for charging laptops, tablets and phones at the same time.

The matt black finish provides a low-sheen surface that minimises fingerprints and pairs with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The black insert behind the matt black faceplate creates a tonal continuity across the wall plate and hides the back of the cover. The socket carries IP20 rating, Over Voltage Category III compliance, and built-in protection against overload, overheat and overcurrent. ErP Ready design consumes only 0.1W in standby mode.

A minimum 25mm back box depth is needed, though up to 35mm may be required depending on the number of cables and the tightness of the installation. The rounded-edge cover plate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
