Description

The Knightsbridge SFR992LMBB combines a 13A 2-gang double-pole switched socket, dual USB fast-charge ports (USB-A and USB-C), and a 2-gang modular aperture on a single matt black screwless faceplate. The modular section accepts two 25x50mm Euro modules or one 50x50mm module, allowing bespoke AV, data or telecoms connectivity to be configured alongside power and USB charging.

Designed for residential, hospitality and workspace installations where cable clutter needs reducing, the plate suits media walls, kitchen worktops, home offices and bedside installations. The dual USB ports share a 5V 4.0A output with support for Quick Charge and USB Power Delivery protocols, delivering up to 18W fast charge. The double-pole switches isolate both live and neutral when off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances.

The screwless cover clips onto a metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, hiding all fixings once installed. The matt black finish on SPCC steel gives a low-sheen surface that minimises fingerprints and reflections, pairing with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The modular aperture sits to the right of the USB ports, allowing HDMI, Ethernet, coax or phone modules (sold separately) to be added without needing separate faceplates.

The plate measures 235mm wide by 87.5mm high and requires a minimum back box depth of 35mm, with 35-47mm recommended depending on the modules fitted. Twin earth terminals provide high-integrity earthing for metal modules and reduce loop impedance. The plate is certified to current UK wiring regulations and carries IP20 ingress protection for dry indoor use.

What modules fit the modular aperture?

The 2-gang modular section accepts two 25x50mm Euro modules or one 50x50mm module. Compatible modules include HDMI, Cat6 Ethernet, coax, phone, satellite, speaker terminals and blank plates. Modules are sold separately and clip into the aperture from the front once the main faceplate is installed.

What is the USB charging output?

The dual USB ports (USB-A + USB-C) share a 5V 4.0A output, supporting Quick Charge and USB Power Delivery protocols up to 18W. Actual charging speed depends on the connected device and cable quality. Many devices reduce charge speed above 70% battery to protect battery longevity.

What back box depth is needed?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is required. Knightsbridge recommends 35-47mm back boxes (GSK335D or GSK347D) depending on the thickness of modules fitted and cable management behind the plate. The screwless cover adds 9.5mm projection from the wall surface.

Can the screwless cover be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The matt black cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is fixed to the back box during installation. The cover can be removed and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring, allowing you to paint or wallpaper around the plate.
