The Knightsbridge SFR992RBC is a 13A 2-gang DP switched socket with dual USB fast-charge ports (one USB-A, one USB-C) and a 2-gang modular aperture on the left side of the plate. The screwless brushed chrome faceplate with black insert measures 235mm wide and houses the twin 13A outlets, USB ports rated at 5V DC 4.0A shared output supporting QC and USB-PD protocols, and a modular space accepting either two 25x50mm or one 50x50mm insert module for TV aerial, satellite, Ethernet or telecom sockets.

Designed for kitchens, home offices, living rooms and commercial environments where multiple device types need power and connectivity in one plate, the modular configuration allows the socket to be tailored to the installation without needing separate faceplates. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the sockets are switched off, providing additional safety for high-draw appliances. The ErP-compliant USB charging draws 0.1W on standby, meeting EU efficiency regulations.

The 201 stainless steel construction with brushed chrome finish resists fingerprints and surface scratches better than polished chrome, while the black insert behind the apertures gives defined edges to each outlet and switch. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, concealing all fixings once installed. The plate requires a 35-47mm back box depth and fits Knightsbridge GSK335D or GSK347D boxes. Twin earthing terminals provide redundant safety grounding.

Fast-charge performance depends on the connected device's charging controller and works most effectively between 0-70% battery capacity. The shared 4.0A output divides between the two USB ports based on connected device demand, so charging two devices simultaneously will reduce the current available to each port. What back box depth is required?

This plate requires a 35-47mm back box depth. Knightsbridge recommends the GSK335D or GSK347D dual back box for this installation. The plate projects 9.5mm from the wall once fitted.

What can fit in the modular aperture?

The 2-gang modular space accepts either two 25x50mm modules or one 50x50mm module. Common inserts include TV aerial, satellite F-connector, Ethernet RJ45, or telephone sockets. Modules are sold separately.

How does the fast-charge output divide between USB ports?

The USB-A and USB-C ports share a combined 5V DC 4.0A output. When two devices are connected, the current divides based on each device's charging controller demand. Charging one device delivers the full 4.0A; charging two simultaneously splits the available current.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
