The Knightsbridge SFR992RBCG is a 13A 2-gang DP switched socket combined with a 2-gang modular aperture and dual USB fast charge ports (one USB-A, one USB-C) on a single brushed chrome screwless faceplate with grey inserts. The layout places the modular section on the left, the two 13A sockets in the centre, and the USB ports on the right. The modular aperture accepts either two 25x50mm modules or one 50x50mm module, allowing HDMI, Cat6, speaker terminals or other data/AV modules to be installed alongside mains power and USB charging.

Designed for home office desks, kitchen islands, home cinema installations and hotel bedside positions where mains power, data connectivity and device charging are needed from a single wall plate, the socket reduces the need for separate faceplates and back boxes. The dual-pole switching isolates both live and neutral on each 13A outlet when switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching. The USB output delivers up to 18W shared across both ports, with support for USB Power Delivery (PD) and Qualcomm Quick Charge protocols for fast charging compatible devices between 0-70% battery capacity.

The 235mm-wide faceplate requires a 47mm minimum back box depth (Knightsbridge recommends model GSK347D) and the screwless cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall surface once installed. The brushed chrome finish is 201 stainless steel with a directional grain that diffuses fingerprints and pairs cleanly with modern and contemporary interiors. The grey inserts behind each aperture hide the back of the cover plate and provide a defined edge to each outlet. The plate includes dual earth terminals for additional earthing integrity and a built-in gasket to reduce dust ingress around the edges.

What back box depth is required?

The plate requires a minimum 35mm back box depth but Knightsbridge recommends a 47mm back box (model GSK347D or GSK335D) to accommodate the deeper socket mechanism and USB charging module behind the faceplate. The total projection from the wall surface once fitted is 9.5mm.

What modules fit the modular aperture?

The 2-gang modular section accepts either two 25x50mm modules (e.g. Cat6, HDMI, speaker terminals) or one 50x50mm module. Knightsbridge's own modular inserts are designed to match this faceplate but Euro-standard 50x50mm modules from other manufacturers may also be compatible.

What is the USB charging output?

The dual USB ports provide 5V DC output with a maximum shared current of 4.0A across both ports, delivering up to 18W total. The USB-C port supports USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge protocols. Fast charge protocols activate automatically when compatible devices are connected and the battery level is between 0-70%.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring or disturbing the sub-frame.
