What does unswitched mean?

An unswitched socket provides a permanent live feed to the outlet. There is no on/off switch on the faceplate itself. Power is controlled either by the appliance plugged into it or by isolation at the consumer unit or a separate fused spur. This configuration is common for appliances that manage their own power state, or where a constant supply is required.

What are the anti-microbial properties?

The plate surface carries anti-microbial treatment tested to ISO 22196:2011, which inhibits the growth of bacteria on the surface. This does not replace cleaning but reduces bacterial colonisation between cleaning cycles, making the socket suited to healthcare, education and food preparation environments.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The 9mm plate adds projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total surface-to-back depth of approximately 34mm including the socket mechanism.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?
