Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang switched socket incorporates four USB charging ports behind a brushed chrome flat plate with a white insert. The USB array provides 5.1A total output at 5V DC, with one port rated at 2.1A for tablets and the remaining three ports intelligently sharing 3A between phones and smaller devices.
Designed for bedrooms, hotel rooms, offices and kitchens where multiple devices need simultaneous charging without occupying the mains socket, the quad USB configuration removes the need for separate plug-in adapters. The single 13A socket remains available for a kettle, lamp, laptop charger or other appliance rated up to 3,120W. The socket switch is dual-pole, isolating both live and neutral when turned off.
The flat plate construction uses 201 stainless steel with a brushed chrome finish and sits 7.7mm proud of the wall when fitted. The plate is fixed with visible screws at the top and bottom corners, unlike screwless variants in other Knightsbridge ranges. The white insert behind the faceplate hides the mounting box and gives a clean border to the socket and USB apertures. The socket fits a standard 25-35mm back box depending on cable bundle size and termination method.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box is needed, though 35mm may be required depending on the number of cables being terminated and how they are dressed inside the box. The socket's recessed depth is 22.6mm, leaving space for cable terminations.
Can all four USB ports be used simultaneously?
Yes. The total USB output is 5.1A at 5V DC. One port is rated at 2.1A for tablets, while the other three share 3A intelligently between connected devices. Using all four ports together may result in slower charge speeds compared to using one or two ports at a time.
Is this a screwless faceplate?
No. This flat plate variant uses visible screws at the top and bottom corners. For a screwless finish in brushed chrome, see the Knightsbridge screwless range.
What is the IP rating?
IP20. This socket is suitable for indoor dry locations only and should not be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or other locations where it may be exposed to water or high humidity.
