Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang switched socket integrates four USB-A charging ports alongside a single 13A mains outlet, all behind a brushed chrome raised-edge faceplate with a black insert. The four USB ports share a combined 5.1A current, with one port delivering up to 2.1A for tablets and three ports providing up to 3A each for smartphones and smaller devices.
Designed for hospitality, office and residential installations where multiple device charging is needed without additional plug adapters, the socket suits hotel rooms, meeting rooms, reception areas, kitchen worktops and home office desks. The single mains outlet retains capacity for a standard UK plug while the USB ports handle charging loads for phones, tablets, e-readers and wireless earbuds. The 13A rating on the mains outlet supports appliances up to 2,990W.
The raised-edge design features a gasket seal between the faceplate and the wall, giving a defined border to each aperture and preventing dust ingress behind the plate. The 430 stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance and maintains its brushed chrome finish under daily contact. The socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box and projects 15.7mm from the wall once installed. BS1363-2 certification, EMC and ErP compliance are included.

Frequently Asked
What's the USB charging output across the four ports?
The four USB-A ports share a combined 5.1A current at 5V DC. One port is dedicated for tablets and outputs up to 2.1A, while the other three provide up to 3A shared between them for smaller devices like smartphones and wireless earbuds. Actual charge speed depends on the device and cable used.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The socket projects 15.7mm from the wall once installed, giving a total depth of approximately 41mm from the wall surface to the rear terminals.
Is the raised edge design functional or decorative?
Both. The raised edge includes a gasket seal that sits between the faceplate and the wall, preventing dust from entering behind the plate and giving a clean defined border to each outlet and USB port aperture.
Can all four USB ports charge simultaneously?
Yes. All four ports can charge devices at the same time, but the total current draw across all ports cannot exceed 5.1A combined. If multiple high-draw devices are connected simultaneously, the charge rate per device will be lower than if only one device is connected.
