Description

The Knightsbridge FPR7USB4PC is a 13A 1-gang switched socket with four USB-A charging ports built into a polished chrome flat plate with a black insert. The USB ports deliver a combined 5.1A output at 5V DC: one dedicated 2.1A port for tablets and fast-charging phones, plus three shared ports providing a combined 3.0A for simultaneous charging of lower-draw devices such as earbuds, smartwatches and wireless mice.

Designed for hotel rooms, student accommodation, home offices and kitchen islands where multiple devices need charging alongside mains appliances, the socket consolidates what would otherwise require separate mains sockets and plug-in USB adapters. The flat plate design provides a 7.7mm projection from the wall once fitted, making it sit closer to the surface than deeper gang-style sockets. The 13A switched outlet handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W.

The polished chrome finish on 201 stainless steel provides a reflective surface that pairs with modern kitchens, bathrooms (where IP20 rating permits) and commercial interiors specifying chrome fixtures. The black insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover and defines the aperture edges for both the mains socket and the four USB ports. The socket is certified to BS1363-2 for UK electrical compliance and carries a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Frequently Asked

What back box depth is required?

A 25-35mm mounting box depth is needed depending on wiring volume and cable entry position. The socket's recessed depth is 22.6mm, so a 25mm box gives minimal clearance while a 35mm box allows more space for cable management behind the faceplate.

How is the 5.1A USB output distributed?

One USB port is dedicated at 2.1A, suitable for tablets and fast-charging smartphones. The remaining three ports share a combined 3.0A output, so charging speed depends on how many devices are connected simultaneously. Plugging a single device into one of the shared ports will still deliver the full available current for that port.

Can all four USB ports be used at the same time?

Yes. All four ports can charge devices simultaneously, subject to the total 5.1A output limit. If you connect four high-draw devices, each will receive a lower current than if only one or two were connected.

Is the flat plate removable for redecorating?

The flat plate is fixed with screws (visible on the faceplate), so it can be removed to paint around the socket and refitted. This is a flat plate design, not a screwless one, so two fixing screws remain visible once installed.
