Description
The Knightsbridge CS9905BCW combines a 13A switched socket, dual USB charging ports and a 3W RMS Bluetooth speaker behind a single brushed chrome faceplate with a white insert. The Bluetooth speaker connects wirelessly to phones, tablets and laptops, streaming audio through a 40mm driver mounted behind a perforated steel grille on the faceplate.
Designed for kitchens, bedrooms, hotel rooms and home offices where streaming audio and power are both needed at counter or desk height, the unit eliminates the need for a separate portable speaker. The Bluetooth connection is controlled by a dedicated button on the faceplate, and the speaker supports playback via Alexa and other voice assistants. The dual USB ports provide 5V DC at 2.4A shared output, sufficient to charge two phones or one tablet simultaneously.
The 430 stainless steel faceplate is finished in brushed chrome with a directional grain that softens reflections under kitchen lighting and pairs with stainless steel appliances and chrome taps. The white insert behind the faceplate conceals the back of the cover plate and provides a clean edge to the socket and USB apertures. The unit is ErP Ready, drawing less than 0.5W in standby when the Bluetooth connection is inactive, and carries EMC, LVD and RED compliance for electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage safety and radio equipment standards.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The integrated speaker and electronics require more space than a standard socket, so deeper back boxes (35-47mm) are recommended where possible to allow clearance for wiring and the rear-mounted speaker magnet.
How does the Bluetooth connection work?
The speaker pairs with Bluetooth-enabled devices in the standard way. Press the Bluetooth button on the faceplate to activate pairing mode, then select 'Knightsbridge Speaker' (or similar identifier) from your device's Bluetooth menu. Once paired, the connection persists until manually disconnected or the device moves out of range.
What's the sound quality like?
The 3W RMS output from a 40mm driver is sufficient for background music, podcasts and voice playback in kitchens, bedrooms and small offices. It is not designed to replace dedicated speakers in a living room or larger open-plan space, but works well for counter-height listening within 3-4 metres.
Can the USB ports charge a laptop?
The USB ports provide 5V DC at 2.4A shared output, which is suitable for charging phones and tablets but not laptops. Most laptops require higher voltage (12V, 20V) and wattage than USB-A ports can deliver. Use the dual USB for mobile devices and the 13A socket for laptop chargers.
